Cobreloa

Cobreloa is a professional football club based in Calama, Chile. The club was founded on January 7, 1977, and its name is derived from the words "cobre," meaning copper, and "loa," referring to the Loa River that runs through the city.

Cobreloa has a rich history and is one of the most successful clubs in Chilean football. They have primarily played in the top-tier league, known as the Primera División, for many years. The club has won numerous national titles, including eight Primera División championships.

Cobreloa achieved its greatest success during the 1980s, when the club won three consecutive Primera División titles from 1980 to 1982. They also reached the Copa Libertadores final in 1981, finishing as runners-up to Flamengo from Brazil.

The club's home stadium is the Estadio Zorros del Desierto, which has a seating capacity of around 12,000 spectators. Cobreloa has a strong local following, and matches at the Estadio Zorros del Desierto are known for their passionate atmosphere.

However, in recent years, Cobreloa has faced financial difficulties and has struggled to maintain its previous level of success. The club has experienced relegation to the second division, but they have also managed to regain promotion back to the Primera División.
